My favorite baby and toddler carriers

Very heavy carrier party!

I upgraded my baby carrier and wanted to share my tips! My boys are big. They've always been >75% (thanks dad), so they don't exactly act their size. Despite them growing, they still love to be carried and to snuggle close on walks.  They aren't always reliable walkers so when their energy level is low we rely on strollers and baby carriers.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Toddler Tula Ergonomic Carrier

Our au pair trying out the Tula with our 4 year old!

We just upgraded to this Toddler Tula carrier and I love it. It's big enough for my four year old and still comfortable despite the additional weight. The waistband is quirky, sturdy, easy to use and velcro free! There's a cellphone/small pocket on the waistband and a head support or shade for the sleeping kiddo!  I love this carrier and I use it for neighborhood walks. They also have a smaller Baby Tula for kids <45lbs which may be big enough for your needs!

I also feel like it's big enough so it does look reasonable on my husband, as evidenced by this man photo ;) when he's wearing it. It seems to fit him comfortably - no we can share the heavy lifting!

Ergobaby 360 Carrier

Ergo 360 Carrier in action!!

We are a fan of this carrier. It was my first hard core carrier after my oldest kid outgrew the softer stretchy wraps (see below). I love the versatility and it's comfortable. The toddler Tula is better for taller kids and big torsos since it has more stability. We also have the Ergobaby infant insert, but honestly haven't used it much since I prefer soft wraps at that age. Additionally, my babies are so big at birth that they didn't fit - ha!  I recommend this carrier for sure. We use the sunshade, adjust all the straps and have definitely done a fair amount of travel with our boys in this nifty carrier!!

Ergo 360, this one has mesh!

Baby Bjorn

This one works for small kids, and you can get it to stay high on your chest. The newer models are starting to incorporate a waistband for extra support - which I appreciate! The benefit of this one is the cost. If you're not sold on baby carrying yet, this is a good place to start for a reasonable cost.

On our way back to Pittsburgh!

Boba Baby Wrap

Traveling selfie with my sleeping Boba baby!

Of the newborn soft carriers, I love the Boba Baby Wrap Carrier and the Moby Evolution Baby Wrap.  I personally have the Boba and have used it for both boys. It keeps them so close and warm - it's the perfect snuggle accessory, and when they get a little bit better at holding their head, it can become a nursing cocoon!

On a budget? Try getting these second hand!

What's your favorite carrier?!
