Five Years of Joy
While my parents celebrated forty years, Paul and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Can you believe it? Five years already! It has gone by so quickly. I can still remember dragging my feet and putting together our wedding post on my legacy blog.. Awww. Our wedding was an amazing day, but the time since then has been even more enjoyable and rewarding. We have sure done a lot of in five years. Paul finished his training, went away for fellowship, came back and secured a job which has supported us as a family! I finished graduate school, most of medical school and I'm now applying for residency! Together we welcomed two beautiful boys who are 3.5 and 1 years old! We became a host family and opened our home to an au pair and have also grown our family that way!
Of course we have endured hardship and loss, but we have become a family together - which has been the best blessing of the last five years. We still learn new and annoying things about one another each day. We laugh every day, and never take life too seriously.
To celebrate, we spent an evening at Bedford Springs. In true marriage fashion, I had severe mono and could barely eat, sleep, walk or move because of my fevers, myalgias and fatigue. So it was the "perfect romantic getaway." We held hands and watched golf - haha, I guess we're really getting this marriage thing down, ey? Regardless, the resort was beautiful, and the time together without packing children from carseats was priceless.
