Paul's Birthday and Our 2 Year Anniversary!

I really wanted to get the most out of Wisconsin during our last month there.  What says Wisconsin better than beer and Brewers?!?!  For Paul's Birthday I organized a little Milwaukee get away.  We went down on a Tuesday after I was done babysitting Drew.

My best friend (below age 5)... He's my buddy and I miss him madly!

We arrived at the park, set up a small tailgate with chicken brats, a beer and some chippy chips.  It was nice to relax and eat our healthy little tailgate.  The boys next to us were getting wild and said they were from the college of Sun Prarie, which they were obiviously in high school and breaking all the rules.  They entertained us as their hearts started racing when the bike cops scooted past. Hahah.

It was a week game so the crowds weren't very busy and I was able to score some amazing tickets.  We were 3 from the front close behind Prince Fielder at first base.

We weren't able to sit in our original seats, so we just sat close by and lucked out.  Some guy told us just to sit down and not worry about being a little bit closer to the action.  He was right!

After relaxing through the first innings, the excitement escalated quickly.  The pitcher from the Padres hit a foul grounder to the guy (in the photo above wearing the helmet on the bottom right) retrieving balls.  He feilded it and tossed it right to Pauls hands!  It was AWESOME.  We caught a ball, which was completely unreal!  Paul gave it to me and then began the flack that we started taking from the crowd.  They were up in our face and each of them had a case why we should hand the foul ball over... We kept it of course!

It was exciting to have that MLB ball resting in my pocket.  What great luck.  Well the luck continued as the Brew Crew was warming up in the outfield.  Gomez was tossing it back and forth, and then the last toss went straight to Paul's hands AGAIN!!  This one caught us by surprise.  I didn't even stand up because I had no idea what was going on!  I think I was texting like a turd!  Paul saw everyone else standing up, so he decided to leave his chair, and the Paul went right into his mittens!  I know he's definitely got the height advantage, but he didn't lean left or right, but simply put his hands high.  Let's just say that after that we didn't have the courage to take a picture of both of them.  We were taking a lot of heat from the crowd.  There weren't any little kids around, so we kept them both.  Two MLB balls on our 2 year anniversary, can't beat that!

That night we stayed at the Hilton on the River.  It was a nice spot to crash.  We took our time and lounged around in the morning before heading to our next  Milwaukee adventure, the Lakefront Brewery!  I had heard great things about this Brewery tour from Trip Advisor, and it was extremely reasonable, so we headed to the brewery!

The tour was short, but good, we enjoyed our beer while waltzing around the brewery, but I'll be the first to say that this was no Slab City Brewing, LLC!  It just didn't feel right going into a brewery without firing up the label maker or helping clean growlers!  Oh how I miss the days of child labor... what a fun time!

We had a great few days in Milwaukee, it was nice to see some of the attractions, and you can never go to too many Brewer games!  It's been a great 2 years, Happy 26th Paul!
