Black Bag Ball at PNC Park!

Medical school has an annual formal, which reminds me of high school prom!  It was a bunch of fun to get all dressed up and prepare for the big event!  Black Bag Ball was held at PNC Park in their ballroom and events center.  It was a really nice venue!  Preparations for the dance started the night before when we invited Anna and Josiah over to our house for dinner.  Anna kindly brought over her manicure goody bag and did my nails.   It was my first time ever having my cuticles "trimmed" and putting a base coat AND a top coat on my nails.  Heck, if I even get two coats of polish on, I'm a lucky lady!

Drinking a glass of wine while getting my nails done, not a bad Friday night!

Saturday I took some time to clean the house up in the morning and started doing my hair.  We were having a little girl's fest around 5 in order to do hair and get ready (see, just like prom right?).   I made Anna patiently sit while I curled and styled her hair.  It was a mad rush to get ready and pick out dresses, shoes, and all the flats that we had to throw in my purse for when we kicked off our heels later.

Paul, our loyal driver who had to sit the night out... (notice the handful of pretzels?) HA!

While the girls were primping, the boys (Josiah and Zel) were getting some KFC for the party.  Paul was doing a little studying in our room, although I'm not sure the environment was conclusive to studying as I was running around like a mad woman!!

We finally got our butts in gear and headed over to Lauren's house for a little wine and snacks before the Limo's showed up! (see prom again! I didn't even ride in a limo for prom!)  We took limo's through town and down to PNC park where we made our way to the dance floor and open bar.  I had a blast seeing everyone and catch up with friends outside of Scaife PBL rooms.  It was also crazy to see everyone in the formal wear!  I think I surprised a few people when they saw me showered with makeup and curly hair?  That's not my usual school style, that's for sure.

We had the limo to ourselves!  Last ones in the limo - Josh, Camilla, Adam, and Bari!

Lauren (our brilliant host) and Matt!

The dance floor was also a blast, and VERY slippery.  The massive quanitity of spilled drinks resulted in my banana peel slipping, but I recovered quickly.  I couldn't control my chaotic movements and was dancing around like crazy - or like a spirochete if you will.

That's pretty normal for those two. (Duerr and Steph)

Taylor, George, and me as we get ready to take on the floor!

After the night was over, we took school buses back to Walnut and walked on home!  Paul had to get up just a few hours later to go to work.  Hopefully next year he'll have a Sunday off, so I can drag him to the madness that is Black Bag Ball...
