While my fourth year of medical school was winding down, I wanted to do my best to explore all that Pittsburgh has to offer. This is in response to the fact that we now know we're moving to Chicago in a year! It is so interesting how when you're on vacation it is so natural to dive into the history, sites and public attractions that each city has to offer. However, when you begin to call that city home, those attractions fall to the back of your schedule and priority list.

This spring and summer I was determined to change this. We went to the local Pittsburgh Botantically Garden, which is has worldwide recognition. We went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game which is one of my absolute favorite Pittsburgh activities. The views - OH the views. The boys enjoyed the night too which was loaded with sugar and frozen yogurt!

My husband and I finally made reservations at a restaurant downtown that everyone has been gushing about! It was his Birthday and we went on a date without the kids. We had dinner, ate too much food, and took a walk down the river.

There is so much more to explore in our city! Last night we found a new park and our list keeps growing! Cheers to keeping the vacation mindset and getting outside to enjoy the beauty!
