Our annual visitors, join us for Memorial Day!
I'm so happy it's becoming tradition for Andrea to visit us in Pittsburgh! Two years ago, they came to visit in our old house, and I scared them by taking them to a nearby crazy water park. Luckily I didn't scare them too badly, since they returned the following year for a Pirates Game and local Pittsburgh activities!
This year they came out to join us again, on one of the hottest weekends so far! Paul and Boomer were visiting his parents in Wisconsin and they hitched a ride back to Pittsburgh. This was our big guy's first long road trip after potty training, so we weren't really sure what to expect. Per report, he did great! He arrive exhausted ( 12 hour car ride with no nap, haha) and asked to go right to bed.
Luckily the weather held off and the next day we spent playing around the house with chalk, sprinklers, and throwing the balls all around the back yard. The kids played hard and I tried my best to plant the rest of our flowers. We went on a few walks and had a great day.
We also had the chance to explore the zoo, grab a bite at a few local restaurants and share dinners together around our big kitchen table. Having big family dinners is basically my favorite thing ever. After dinner we had two nights that were perfect for campfires and roasted extra large marshmallows! It was a blast to have them out. We shared a lot of laughs, stories, and made plenty of new memories! While they were out here, I booked my tickets to join them back in Wisconsin for a weekend, so sounds like we're even! Thanks again for visiting, I hope we can keep the tradition going! Cheers to next year!
